Our trip to Knott's Berry Farm was a jam-packed (no pun intended!), all-day outing full of wacky experiences ranging from getting soaked at Bigfoot Rapids to stomach-churning inversions on the Silver Bullet. We tried just about everything in the park--Xcelerator, Supreme Scream, Pony Express--not to mention some of the more "reasonable" rides like the Calico Coal Mine and the leisurely Calico Railroad, where we almost got held up at gunpoint by some funny bandits! Words can't really describe how much excitement we experienced. Here's a video clip that shows a little of what we experienced (watch Richard Leung as he prepares to blast off!) We truly had a blast! And oh, I haven't told you about the amazing all-you-care-to-eat $6-per-person fried-chicken-and-biscuits-and-boysenberry-pie lunch we all had. Hands down, it was the most incredible lunch you could find at any amusement park...ever. And there was more -- like watching Jesse Chen throw up some airballs at the 3-point challenge -- but the greatest fun we had was in just being together after a long Winter Break. It was great to see each other again, catch up, have fun, and just hang out. With the Winter quarter upon us, we're looking forward to seeing everyone at acts2fellowship again and having more memory-making moments! See you soon!
The final NSWN trailer is here, featuring a sticky situation!
Check out this new trailer for NSWN, filmed just this week!
It's coming soon! Wednesday, 9/21 6 PM @ Price Center West Ballroom. Tell your friends!
Due to popular demand, here are some of the videos that were made 2 weeks ago during our post TFN Scavenger Hunt. Don't miss out on our next TFN activity! The following 2 videos were to capture a "Cool entrance into a fast food restaurant." This was one team's version of a "Scary movie."
Made by the thoughtful students of a2f San Diego in their appreciation for the staff this past year! This was put together by their own initiative and creativity. All of the staff were so thankful for this wonderful video and we're looking forward to the upcoming Fall.
Join us this coming Friday for our TFN activities at 105 Center Hall. We'll start with dinner at 6:30pm and like always have a great time afterwards. Why go to the library by yourself on Saturday when you can join us at our house for Study Hall starting at 2pm! Stick around afterwards and we'll watch a simulcast of Glive, a production put together by our sister fellowship groups at UC Berkeley.
If you have friends up in NorCal, tell them to go see the awesome production put on by our sister fellowships at UC Berkeley. It's a show that happens only every two years! But for those of you down here, don't fret, we'll be able to watch the show live over the Internet! Here's a little trailer.
If you missed our quarter-end video, here it is once again! What an amazing Winter Quarter! What was your most memorable event? See you all in the Spring!
If you had missed out this past Friday's Scavenger Hunt, you missed out on the hilarious photos that we took and this rendition of Israel's deliverance portrayed backwards. Some of the memorable photos:
Life Groups will be starting again this quarter. It's really a great way to get plugged in and an opportunity to have fun, enjoy food together, and get to know God through the context of friendships. Some of my best memories of college have been times such as these. Life Groups will begin next week after we finalize time slots. Sign up here!
Check out this video that Tracy put together. What a packed first quarter, what was your favorite moment in a2f this past year? Was it the Cabrillo trip? How about taking C101 or joining our Life Groups? Was it making those monumental dumplings? Or was it joining us for a weekend up north to our Thanksgiving Retreat?
What an amazing trip we took this past Saturday to Cabrillo! We got a chance to take a nice hike and enjoy the tide pools at the beach. But you don't have to take my word for it. Check out this cool recap video below! I'd have to say that my favorite part was seeing the jets fly into their base. What was your favorite part of the trip? Don't worry if you missed out. We'll have plenty more outings later on in the quarter.
This Friday evening, Lem is going to continue on with the "More than..." message series focusing in on the question: Is the bible more than a book? Many people have similar questions, and hopefully, you'll get some of your questions answered this Friday starting at 6:30pm at 113 Center Hall. Stick around afterwards, we'll be heading over to Muir Field to play some organized sports like Night Kickball! Remember to sign up for this Saturday's Freshman Outing! You'll see beautiful coasts and enjoy lunch and ice cream as well. You don't want to miss out!
Now that NSWN has come and gone, we'll be kicking off Life Groups for those of you who are all interested. Please sign up here if you haven't done so already. Life groups typically meet once a week in a small setting, were you get to know one another, talk about life and God. And it's a great opportunity to get to make life-long friends. This week, Life Groups will launch on Wednesday at 6:30pm at Round Table Pizza by the Price Center Thursday with 2 different time slots. You can either come at 12-1pm at the Pine Dining Hall (Muir) or 6-7pm at Asante Hall (ERC). Location is being are finalized! Come and check it out!
This video may give you a taste for what NSWN is like. Known as New Student Welcome Night; it's coming to UC San Diego and will start at 6pm on Tuesday, 9/22. Come early to get your seats! NSWN has already occurred in many of our sister groups at UC Berkeley and Univ of Minnesota and more to come in the following weeks. Both were huge, fun-filled events, so come and bring a friend not so much like these fellas.
You've made it to UCSD! Now that you've moved in, met your floor mates and found the laundry room, come and join us for Shaved Ice and Games tomorrow today at 7pm! Come and enjoy the sweet condensed milk over shaved ice and kick back with us playing new and old games. What better way to start off the new quarter. Bring your floor mates and we'll see you at International Center, right off of Library Walk.
