Hello! Just a reminder that Sunday Worship on 12/14 will be at 1:00pm (NOT 1:30pm). This is to allow our Joyland Christmas Celebration to begin at 4:00pm.
Please join us also for Joyland Christmas Celebration, our annual Christmas program put on by our children's department.
Both of the above will be at Willard Junior High. Rides will be from 12:20-12:30pm at Foothill and Clark Kerr.
This past Friday's message by Pastor Ed was about the grace of God. During the message, he expounded upon how we do not need to achieve moral goodness in order to go to heaven. I got several questions regarding this message along the lines of "What's the use of being good, then?" or "Wouldn't that make people exploit the grace of God?"
I wanted to answer these kinds of questions here, as well as open it up for further commenting.

With all that happened, this weekend definitely seemed like a blur. Here's a recap in case you're feeling like Danny:
On Friday, we didn't have our usual a2f Bible Study, but instead met by class for dinner and studying (well, most of the classes studied. The juniors went to Underhill and played soccer with a group of Indonesian soccer stars with lasers.... ask one of the juniors for clarification if you're interested. Very fun.)
Saturday night was a night of food and fellowship at our Bible Study and Christmas party. We had an incredible feast with Tom Kim's legendary roast beef, and Tim So's numbing chicken. Best surprisingly delicious dish award goes to the brussel sprouts. They were tasty... and they were brussel sprouts.
Needless to say, we were all very happy and
very full at the end of the meal.
After our meal, Pastor Ed gave a bible study starting off by encouraging us to know each others' names perfectly modeled by Sarah Kim. He then talked about how good we needed to be to get into heaven (not good at all).
Following bible study, our gift exchange commenced. It was full of laughter, gifts, and more laughter as we played speed Jenga with a twist (and unfortunately that "twist" smacked Sarah in the head... thanks, Kenny), blind Nerf gunman, and witnessed the second coming of Vamos a la Playa (as usual, the sequel was not as good as the original).
Notable gifts of the night included a
trash can contributed especially for the junior guys, a flying purple horse, and a nice picture frame (see our caption contest). But whether you got one of the awesome led flashlights or a stuffed dog with maracas, you went home happy.
Sunday featured Brian, Calvin and Sijii's baptisms!
